It's a hot one...

I'm struggling with what I'm sure many others are also struggling with now--heat and humidity. June has felt much more like August and this has made running more taxing lately. I've found myself running slower, needing frequent water breaks, and even cutting runs short. The options for this heat are running in the morning or as the sun is setting. I know it makes more sense to run in the morning, but I hate running a non-long run in the morning. It takes me forever to feel awake, so I run at least 30 seconds slower per mile than I do in the evening. I hope we get some rain to provide some relief. I almost ran through my neighbor's yard Thursday when I saw his sprinklers on. It was one of those that everyone jumps repeatedly as a kid and I couldn't help but wish i were 20 years younger and be able to put in those miles running through the sprinklers like we all did as kids.
